Last night Town Meeting voted unanimously to approve an additional $630,000 to allow construction to proceed on two modular classrooms for the Mitchell School. The source of funding was free cash, and is not expected to have any impact on future spending.

On Tuesday, January 22, a Special Town Meeting will be held to vote on additional funding for the construction of two modular classrooms at Mitchell Elementary School.
Last May, Town Meeting appropriated $1.1 million for construction, but the only bid received exceeded the budget by $630,000. Article 1 appropriates an additional $630,000, allowing the project to move forward on schedule to be completed by September 2019.
